It is a sedimentary rock, common in the surface of the earth's crust. The main method of formation is the destruction and transfer of rocks by water, followed by cementation of the sediments. Basically, it is sand that is naturally cemented under water pressure. The color range is dominated by light shades: yellow, beige, red, amber (less often - gray-green, golden, blue). The structure of the stone depends on the deposit, the composition of the fragments, the type of cement:
Fine-grained - 0.1-0.5 mm.
Medium-grained - 0.5-1 mm.
Coarse - 1-2 mm.
Sandstone texture
By the size of the layers, a plastic stone is distinguished (it splits into thin, uneven plates) and flagstone - more durable, with a smooth surface and a ring-shaped pattern.
